Since 2018, Rosa Elvira Recinos has been part of the Colibrí Program—a space that led her to discover her vocation for community organizing and restorative agriculture. Her first encounter came through the training process for social facilitators, where she gained tools in social economy, entrepreneurship, and soft skills.

Her commitment led her to join the Agricultural Landscape Committee Association (ACOGESPA), where she has actively worked to engage both youth and adults in territorial advocacy processes. One of her greatest achievements has been her participation in the Agricultural Summer School, which allowed her to reconnect with her academic background and enroll at Panamerican University, where she recently earned a degree in Sustainable Local Development.

Even before joining the program, Rosa already had a strong commitment to her community, organizing a group of young people to secure household water access for 122 families. Her leadership and determination were key to mobilizing the community and making a project come true that many had considered impossible.

Today, Rosa not only continues to transform her surroundings through her work but also inspires other young people to believe in their ability to drive change. Her story is a testament to the fact that when a young woman commits to herself, her community, and her peers, there’s no challenge she can’t overcome. Rosa has shown that passion and perseverance can open paths where there were once only barriers. And with every step she takes, she continues planting seeds for the future.

Her leadership has been key in training new generations of young people who seek to make a difference in their communities. Through workshops, mentoring, and guidance, Rosa has encouraged more youth to actively participate in social and environmental impact initiatives. For her, the success of her work is not measured solely in completed projects, but in each young person who discovers their potential and dares to fight for a better future.

In her unique way of encouraging others, Rosa brought Patrocleo—a one-of-a-kind character—into the youth team. "Patrocleo is the motto of youth. He represents the courage to be yourself, to break from the norm—like speaking in public without shame or crossing symbolic boundaries". He was born during the July 2024 camp and has since become that friend who never leaves your side and inspires you to be your most authentic self.

Rosa’s journey shows us that passion, resilience, and dedication can transform realities and sow hope where there were once only barriers. With each step she takes, this young woman continues to plant the future, reminding us that true change begins with the will to believe in the impossible.
